RIZIN 21 fight card finalized

The bout card for RIZIN 21 event has been finalized.

Mikuru Asakura and Daniel Salas meet in the 68-kg (approx. 150 pounds) headliner of RIZIN 21, which takes place Saturday (Friday evening in North America) at Hamamatsu Arena in Hamamatsu, Japan.

Asakura—the older brother of bantamweight contender Kai Asakura—has won eight straight fights to push his pro record to 12-1 (1 NC) most recently defeating John Teixeira by unanimous decision in December. His other notable RIZIN conquests include Yusuke Yachi, Takeshi Inoue, and Hatsu Hioki.

For Salas (16-6-1), this will be his RIZIN debut. “El Cazador” is on a two-fight win streak.

In the co-main event, DEEP bantamweight champion and Josh Barnett disciple Victor Henry (19-4) fights 16-year veteran Masanori Kanehara (27-13-5) in a bantamweight bout. Henry made a spectacular RIZIN debut last August with a triangle choke submission of Trent Girdham.

RIZIN 21 will feature MMA bouts, kickboxing bouts, and a jiu-jitsu exhibition. The event will stream live on FITE TV PPV at midnight (ET) on Friday.
