UFC 254: Khabib vs Gaethje (RESULTS)
Winning bets
Casey Kenney (+1.11 units) & (-0.5 units) ITD
This was a close fight throughout but Kenney put out enough volume to get the decision. We did lose our ITD bet on Kenney since he wasn’t able to finish Wood. Kenney is a good fighter who deserves to be ranked. Wood had a nice showing as well so both fighters stocks go up after this fight.
Alexander Volkov (+0.56 units) & (+0.87 units) ITD
We felt Volkov held a massive experience and skill advantage over Harris and he didn’t disappoint. All he needed to do was avoid the big early shot from Harris and he did. Once Harris couldn’t finish him early he wore down and eventually got stopped by Volkov in round 2.
Shavkat Rakhmonov (+0.83 units) & (+1.37 units) ITD
We took a chance on UFC newcomer Rakhmonov and he didn’t disappoint. Oliveira was the more experienced and known commodity but he’s been known to quit at times. Rakhmonov was able to slap on a guillotine near the end of round 1 and Oliveira couldn’t escape and tapped shortly after.
Losing bets
Justin Gaethje (-2 units) & (-0.5 units) ITD
We took a stab on Gaethje and it didn’t work out. He was able to implement his leg kicking game but Khabib’s relentless pressure was too much to overcome. Khabib eventually was able to get the fight to the ground. Once there he was able to secure a 2nd round submission rather easily.
Jared Cannonier (-2 units) & (-0.5 units) ITD
Going into the fight we felt Cannonier was on the rise and Whittaker was on the decline. We felt that Cannonier was going to be too strong for Whittaker and that just wasn’t the case. Whittaker showed good movement, striking, and was able to do more damage throughout the duration of the fight. Robert Whittaker was more skilled, fought the better competition, and it showed.
UFC Fight Night: Hall vs Silva (PLAYS)
This is a weird card as far as the odds are concerned. There are many high priced favorites and not a lot of dogs that we like. With that being said we just played a few small ITD bets for the card and 1 ITD parlay.
Adrian Yanez & Dustin Jacoby ITD parlay +238 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 10/29/20.
Adrian Yanez is a very talented fighter who’s making his UFC debut. He’s a finisher and has fought the better competition by far compared to his opponent. It should only be a matter of time before he finishes Rodriguez.
Dustin Jacoby is a decorated kickboxer making his return to the UFC. Justin Ledet is probably the better overall mma fighter but he welcomes a striking match. If that’s the case here then give us the better striker in Jacoby with a good chance of him getting a finish.
Uriah Hall over Anderson Silva +150 ITD (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 10/29/20.
This is Anderson Silva’s farewell fight and rarely do fighters win their last fight. He’s 45 years old and is well past his prime. Uriah Hall is much the better striker and this is a 5 round fight. We’re going to take a chance that Silva won’t make it to the end of the fight.
Sean Strickland over Jack Marshman +160 ITD (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 10/29/20.
Sean Strickland is returning after a 2 year absence due to a motorcycle accident. He’s very well rounded and pushes a good pace in his fights. Marshman is a good striker but his ground game is lacking. We’re taking the chance the Strickland can finish him on the feet or the ground at some point.
Jason Witt over Cole Williams +375 ITD (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 10/29/20.
Jason Witt is the younger, more experienced fighter, training out of the better camp. Both he and Williams were finished in their UFC debuts. This feels like a fight that might finish inside the distance so we’re taking a chance on the slight favorite in Witt to do so and nice odds.
