All good things must come to an end. Our bets ended up going 1-3 last week for a total loss of 1.35 units. Year to date we are down 3.13 units. All bets are 3rd party tracked at Betmma.tips under the handicapper profile name MMAInformed.com.
UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Jared Gordon (+1.15 units)
It seemed like everyone and their mother was on Danny Chavez for this fight. The facts were that Gordon was the more established UFC fighter and his losses were only to legit competition. He pressed a pace that Chavez couldn’t keep up with and was much the better fighter.
Losing Bets
Curtis Blaydes by KO (-1 unit)
Blaydes was easily winning the fight until he wasn’t. He chose to strike with Lewis and was having much success doing so. But everything changed once he decided to shoot a takedown and Lewis caught him, putting him to sleep. Things happen and we have no regrets with our bet.
Eddie Wineland (-1 unit)
Much like Curtis Blaydes, Wineland was winning the fight until he wasn’t. Wineland was looking sharp and strong until Castaneda hurt him and went for the kill. It was a bad looking loss for Wineland who may want to consider retiring.
Jared Vanderaa by dec (-0.5 units)
We just threw our money away with this bet. Spivak was able to completely dominate Vanderaa on the ground before ultimately finishing him. If Vanderaa had some wrestling in his arsenal he didn’t show it in this spot.
UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Gane (PLAYS)
Mayra Bueno Silva over Montana De La Rosa -133 (5 units) ***MAX BET*** Bet was placed on 2/11/21.
Montana De La Rosa seems to be the consensus pick here in the mma community and it’s puzzling. Yes she has good wrestling and that would be her best path to victory. While she’s lost to some good fighters she’s yet to beat a good fighter in our opinion.
Mayra Bueno Silva is the better, harder striker in our opinion. She’s already beaten a better fighter than De La Rosa – Gillian Robertson. She throws everything with bad intentions. De La Rosa has a history of getting bloodied up in her fights and we feel that could be the case here as well. Even if / when De La Rosa is able to get top position Bueno Silva is dangerous from her back. We feel Bueno Silva will do enough along the way to get the victory.
Jimmie Rivera over Pedro Munhoz -154 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/26/21.
This is a rematch of a fight that took place in 2015. Rivera won a close fight back then and we expect him to win a close fight this time around. Rivera is the faster, cleaner striker. Munhoz tends to get hit often as his striking defense is a work in progress. We feel Munhoz will need to hurt Rivera bad to get the victory otherwise Rivera should be able to outpoint him with his cleaner striking.
Alex Caceres vs Kevin Croom FDGTD +120 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/26/21.
Kevin Croom is on record stating he’s going all out and this fight won’t go 2 rounds win or lose. If he’s true to his word then it appears he has a kamikaze game plan for this fight. On top of that he has good submissions and Caceres has been known to get subbed throughout his career. Caceres is well rounded and could finish Croom by sub or KO as well.
Ronnie Lawrence over Vince Cachero by decision +125 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 2/26/21.
Ronnie Lawrence was impressive on Dana White’s Contender Series winning a lopsided decision. He showcased his wrestling landed in over 10 takedowns. Cachero is tough but we feel Lawrence’s grappling will be too much for him. Since Lawrence isn’t much of a finisher we feel he’ll most likely get the victory by decision in this spot.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik over Ciryl Gane by KO +325 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 2/26/21.
Ciryl Gane is an undefeated prospect who’s quickly moving up the heavyweight ranks in the UFC. He’s well rounded with a surprisingly good submission game coming from a striking background. This is a big step up in competition however as he’s never faced someone with the type of power Rozenstruik possesses. He would be wise to take the fight to the ground where Rozenstruik would be at a major disadvantage.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik was on a rocket ship to a title shot until he ran into Francis Ngannou. He possesses that “death touch” power in his hands and could finish a fight at any moment. We’re taking a shot on him here based on his level of competition he’s faced and the crazy power he possesses. If he’s going to win it would seem to be by KO as winning by decision or submission appear to be extremely unlikely.
