And the losing beat goes on. Our bets ended up going 1-3 last week for a total loss of 2 units. Year to date we are down 15.36 units. All bets are 3rd party tracked at Betmma.tips under the handicapper profile name MMAInformed.com.
UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Jason Witt vs Matt Semelsberger FDGTD (1 unit)
We figured this fight would most likely end by Witt getting KO’d or Semelsberger getting submitted. Well it only took 16 seconds to find out. Witt got KO’d by the 1st punch Semelsberger threw and the fight ended just like that.
Losing Bets
Jonathan Martinez ITD (1 unit)
This was a bit of a shocker. Martinez had been in good form and had Grant badly hurt in round 1. But that all changed in round 2 when Grant connected on one of his wild, winging, shots that dropped Martinez and the fight ended shortly after.
Misha Cirkunov ITD (1 unit)
Looking back we should’ve never bet on such a high variance fight. There wasn’t a solid read either way on how the fight should go and we paid for it. Spann ended up hurting and finishing Cirkunov by TKO in round 1.
Nasrat Haqparast by KO (1 unit)
We felt all the ingredients for a Haqparast KO were in place. Garcia was making his UFC debut on short notice against a top 15 caliber fighter. He was also taking a huge step up in competition. Haqparast landed many clean shots but Garcia was surprisingly durable and was able to last the full 3 rounds.
UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Holland (PLAYS)
Derek Brunson over Kevin Holland +140 (1.25 units) Bet was placed on 3/18/21.
Kevin Holland is currently riding a 5 fight win streak and is coming off a spectacular finish of Jacare Souza. The quality of opposition in the other 4 fights is a bit suspect however. Derek Brunson is on a little 3 fight winning streak himself.
We feel he’ll look to take the fight to the ground and control Holland with his wrestling. Holland has been taken down by fighters with much less wrestling accolades than Brunson. If that occurs we see Brunson winning by decision with a chance of finishing Holland along the way.
Montel Jackson vs Jesse Strader under 1.5 rounds +100 (1 unit) & Montel Jackson by submission +500 (0.5 units) Bets were placed on 3/18/21.
Jesse Strader is making his UFC debut after only 6 fights. He’s never been out of the 2nd round in his pro career. Strader likes to press forward with a reckless, striking heavy game plan. This is a massive step up in competition for him.
Montel Jackson is considered a legit prospect in the bantamweight division. He’s well rounded and has exceptionally long reach for a fighter his size. With those long limbs the potential for Jackson to sub Strader is there. We feel the step up in competition will be too much for Strader to handle and that it won’t go the distance.
Macy Chiasson over Marion Reneau by decision +120 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 3/18/21.
Marion Reneau is 43 years old and is on a 3 fight losing streak. Her days in the UFC and in MMA for that matter appear to be numbered. With that being said she’s extremely durable and has never been finished in her career.
Macy Chiasson was an undefeated, fast rising, prospect until she ran into Lina Lansberg. She’s since got back on the winning track and now faces a veteran who appears to be on her way out. We see Chiasson doing enough to get the win here most likely by decision considering Reneau’s durability.
Adrian Yanez over Gustavo Lopez ITD +105 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 3/18/21.
Gustavo Lopez stepped in on short notice in his UFC debut against Merab Dvalishvili. He showed his worth even though he was throughly defeated in that fight. He since then won his next fight against Anthony Birchak. Now he’s being matched up against a faster, stronger fighter.
Adrian Yanez has the look of a blue chip prospect in the bantamweight division. He has exceptionally fast hands and good power. Early in his career he’s even finished some opponents by submission. We feel his hand speed will be too much for Lopez to handle and he’ll ultimately win the fight inside the distance.
