Capper’s Delight – (4/10/21) UFC on ABC 2: Vettori vs Holland

Unfortunately we went back to our losing ways during the last card. Our bets ended up going 2-4 last card for a total loss of 1.75 units. Year to date we are down 13.74 units. All bets are 3rd party tracked at Betmma.tips under the handicapper profile name MMAInformed.com.

UFC 260: Miocic vs Ngannou 2 (RESULTS)

Winning Bets

Sean O’Malley by KO (1.20 units)

O’Malley’s calculated striking turned out to be too much for Almeida to handle. He was able to get a devastating KO of Almeida in round 3 after nearly finishing him in round 1. The fight proved to be a complete mismatch.

Francis Ngannou by KO (1.05 units)

Francis Ngannou was able to get his revenge in the rematch becoming the new heavyweight champion in the process. He was very patient in his approach and was able to defend Miocic’s only takedown attempt. Ngannou’s improvements as a fighter showed as he was able to KO Miocic in round 2.

Losing Bets

Michal Oleksiejczuk by KO (1 unit)

Michal Oleksiejczuk was able to win the fight but the KO never materialized. He hurt Bukauskas a couple of times to the body but wasn’t able to finish him. Ultimately Oleksiejczuk is undersized at light heavyweight and will need to badly hurt his opponent to finish them.

Khama Worthy by decision (1 unit)

This was a bad bet as Mullarkey was able to quickly KO Worthy in round 1. Mullarkey isn’t known as a heavy puncher but he was able to put Worthy’s lights out. We made the mistake of overlooking Worthy’s history of chin issues.

Miranda Maverick ITD (1 unit)

Miranda Maverick proved to be the better fighter but wasn’t able to finish Robertson. To her credit Robertson was more durable than we thought and was able last the full 3 rounds.

Tyron Woodley (1 unit)

We took a chance on Woodley and he gave us our money’s worth. He finally let his hands go and actually hurt Luque early in the fight. However Luque is one of the most durable welterweights around and was able to survive and later finish Woodley.

UFC on ABC 2: Vettori vs Holland (PLAYS)

Jack Shore over Hunter Azure ITD +185 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/21.

This is a matchup which is destined to play out on the mat as both fighters should look to grapple. Azure has the better hands and is the better pure wrestler. He does have a tendency to tire later in fights however and we’re banking on that happening here.

Jack Shore is an undefeated prospect and a talented grappler. He’s known for having a good gas tank and his submission game is on point. We feel that this fight will go into the later rounds where Azure could be gassed out. If that’s the case then Shore would have a good shot to finish him as he’s won by finish in 12 of his 13 fights.

Joe Solecki over Jim Miller ITD +225 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 4/9/21.

This is a matchup between an up and coming prospect and a grizzled veteran. Jim Miller is most dangerous in round 1 as he’s an opportunistic grappler. However he slows down dramatically the later the fight gets.

Joe Solecki is the younger fighter and welcomes a grappling match given his BJJ background. We feel Miller won’t be able to get the early finish and the fight will get extended. If that happens then Solecki will be live for a finish given his grappling skills. Miller hasn’t fought someone with Solecki’s submission skills in a few years.

Julian Marquez and Sam Alvey FGTD +130 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 4/9/21.

This is a fight between two low output, durable fighters. Marquez has never been finished in his career and doesn’t really have that one punch power. Alvey has been finished 3 times but that’s over a 48 fight sample size.

We feel this fight will play itself out on the feet in a low volume affair with some cage control along the way. Both fighters have good chins in the event someone is able to land cleanly. It has the feel of a low action, boring fight that goes the distance.

Nina Nunes over Mackenzie Dern by decision +175 (2 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/21.

Nina Nunes is making her return to the octagon after recently giving birth. When she was last seen she was in a title eliminator fight against Tatiana Suarez. While she was dominated on the mat in the 1st 2 rounds by Suarez, she did come back to win the 3rd round.

Mackenzie Dern is known for her BJJ but her wrestling is a work in progress. She has poor takedown success and if that’s the case here she’ll most likely lose the fight. While her striking has improved, Nunes is the better striker here. We feel this fight will mostly play out on the feet where Nunes should do enough to get a decision victory.

Jack Shore / Joe Solecki / Nina Nunes / Mateusz Gamrot / Marvin Vettori parlay +552 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 4/9/21.

We already have prop bets on Shore, Solecki, and Nunes so we feel they’ll all win their fights. We also feel that Mateusz Gamrot and Marvin Vettori will win their fights as well.

Mateusz Gamrot lost a close decision in his last fight giving him the only loss in his career. He’s the younger fighter who’s a talented grappler. Scott Holtzman is 37 years old and is coming off a devasting KO loss to Beneil Dariush. He’s a tough fighter but we feel Gamrot will be too much for him to handle.

Marvin Vettori is on the verge of a title shot and may be one victory over Kevin Holland from getting it. He’s well rounded and brings an aggressive style to the octagon. He can win a decision or finish his opponents.

Kevin Holland is coming off a head scratching loss just 3 weeks ago. He was on a 5 fight winning streak but decided to do nothing in a lopsided defeat to Derek Brunson. We feel Vettori’s pressure will be too much for Holland to handle and he’ll get the victory in this spot.
