Capper’s Delight – (6/5/21) UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Sakai

We had another losing week for the last card. Our bets ended up going 2-3 for a total loss of 2.05 units. Year to date we are down 26.36 units. All bets are 3rd party tracked at Betmma.tips under the handicapper profile name MMAInformed.com.

UFC Fight Night: Font vs Garbrandt (RESULTS)

Winning Bets

Bruno Silva (1.10 units)

Bruno Silva destroyed the overmatched Victor Rodriguez inside of a minute. That makes it back to back impressive performances for the surging Silva.

Ben Rothwell (1.10 units)

This was a sloppy fight between a veteran UFC fighter and a short notice replacement. Rothwell did his part in finishing the newcomer inside the distance by submission.

Losing Bets

Felicia Spencer (-1 unit)

We made the mistake of assuming this fight would go to the ground where we felt Spencer would have the advantage. The fight instead played out on the feet where Dumont was the much better striker with the faster hands.

Edmen Shahbazyan (-1 unit)

We thought Shahbazyan would come back a rejuvenated fighter after his long layoff. While he started the fight strong, he ended up slowing down dramatically, ultimately losing a unanimous decision.

Rob Font (-2.25 units)

This fight played out on the feet with Font being the better striker. Garbrandt much to our surprise, fought smart and didn’t get into a firefight like he’s done in the past so he didn’t get knocked out. He chose to get picked apart for 5 rounds and lose by unanimous decision instead.

UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Sakai (PLAYS)

Mason Jones over Alan Patrick ITD +120 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/4/21.

Mason Jones is a good prospect with a promising future. He’s a well rounded, exciting fighter who presses a good pace. The UFC did him no favors in matching him up against Mike Davis in his debut. Now it appears they’re doing him a favor.

Alan Patrick started off his UFC career going 5-1. He’s gone 0-2 since and hasn’t been very competitive in those fights. Now he’s fighting a young prospect who’s going to take the fight to him. The feeling here is Jones’ pressure will be too much for Patrick to withstand leading to some sort of stoppage victory.

Ilir Latifi over Tanner Boser by decision +350 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 6/4/21.

Tanner Boser is the younger, quicker fighter in this matchup. While he’s gone 3-2 in the UFC, his victories have come against lackluster competition. His wins have come against fighters with a combined 2-7 record in the UFC.

Ilir Latifi has tons more UFC experience and against legit competition. This is his only 2nd fight at heavyweight however although he was
competitive against #2 ranked heavyweight Derrick Lewis in his last fight. We feel that Latifi will ultilize his wrestling background especially if he’s getting beat to the punch by the faster Boser. It might not be pretty but we see a scenario where Latifi wins a low action, boring decision.

Gregory Rodrigues over Dusko Todorovic ITD +210 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/4/21.

This fight feels destined to end inside the distance. Both fighters have big power and suspect chins. The big difference is Todorovic intentionally fights with his hands down. He was able to get away with it up until his last fight.

Rodrigues is coming off 2 impressive KO victories leading up to this his UFC debut. If Todorovic keeps fighting with his hands down
that’ll give Rodrigues an opportunity to get his 3rd impressive KO victory in a row.

Walt Harris over Marcin Tybura by KO +275 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/4/21.

This fight feels like it will end one of two ways. Harris will win by KO or Tybura will win by decision. Tybura enters this fight on a 4 fight win streak but against weak competition. He’s been KO’d in his last 3 losses.

Walt Harris is 37 years old but is very athletic with fast hands and good power. He’s lost his last 2 fights but that was against top 10 competition. Now he’s getting a significant step down in competition against a slow, plodding fighter. He’s been able to finish many fighters in the past who couldn’t match his athleticism. Marcin Tybura seems to fit that mold.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik over Augusto Sakai by KO +150 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/4/21.

Augusto Sakai has an impressive record of 15-2-1. He was on a 6 fight winning streak entering his last fight against Alistair Overeem. He took a beat down in that fight which was a significant step up in competition for him. Sakai is a high output fighter who likes to press forward which appears to play right into his opponents hands.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik has big power and was undefeated heading into his fight against current champion Francis Ngannou. He was KO’d quickly in that fight and has since lost a decision to title contender Ciryl Gane and beat Junior Dos Santos by KO. Now he’s getting a matchup against a fighter he should be able to counter punch against. All of Rozenstruik’s UFC victories have come by KO so if he wins it most likely will be by that method.
