UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Volkov (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Renato Moicano ITD (1.20 units)
This fight ended up going as expected with Moicano getting the victory inside the distance. Moicano proved to be too much for Herbert to handle and he was able to get the submission victory in round 2.
Losing Bets
Warlley Alves ITD (-1 unit)
Alves is a hot or cold fighter and he came up cold against Wells. He held almost every advantage going into the fight and still managed to get finished in round 2.
Raoni Barcelos & Ciryl Gane parlay (-2 units)
Ciryl Gane did his part by easily outpointing Volkov for a unanimous decision victory. Raoni Barcelos on the other hand was the parlay killer. He just didn’t do enough to earn the decision victory and got out worked by the underdog Valiev.
UFC 264: Poirier vs McGregor 3 (PLAYS)
Dustin Poirier over Conor McGregor ITD +145 ***MAX BET*** (5 units) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
Just like their 1st 2 fights, we don’t see this fight making it to the judges. More than likely someone will get finished again and we believe that someone will be Conor McGregor.
Simply put Conor is no longer the hungry fighter he was before he became wealthy. Also he’s been very inactive with only 3 fights in the last 4 1/2 years. Conor doesn’t like it when he can’t finish a fighter and they offer resistance. That’s exactly what we expect to see from Dustin Poirier.
Poirier is a dog who if you don’t finish him he’ll just keep coming. We seen this just 6 months ago when Conor landed several very clean shots on Poirier and he just kept coming. Conor seemingly would need to finish Poirier early to get the victory. The longer the fight goes the better Poirier gets and Conor will start to get demoralized. We feel Poirier will be able to withstand Conor’s early barrage and be able to break and finish him again later in the fight.
Stephen Thompson over Gilbert Burns -155 (3 units) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
If this fight plays out on the feet Thompson should win comfortably. If Burns is able to take the fight to the ground then he’ll be at a huge advantage. We feel the fight will play itself out on the feet.
Thompson is an elite technical striker who’s a difficult stylistic matchup. He’s been able to pick apart most of his opponents in a striking matchup. And most of his fights tend to play out on the feet because of his excellent takedown defense.
Gilbert Burns should look to try and get the fight to the ground where his BJJ is world class. However he tends to welcome a striking match and has had some impressive finishes on the feet. If he chooses to strike with Thompson we see him getting picked apart. Also this is Burns’ 1st fight since losing an emotional title fight. We feel this matchup is too much for Burns to overcome.
Tai Tuivasa over Greg Hardy by decision +400 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
This is a matchup between 2 durable heavyweights. Both fighters like most heavyweights are low output. For those reasons we feel the fight will go to the judges. If that happens we also feel Tuivasa will have done a bit more to get the decision victory.
Yana Kunitskaya over Irene Aldana by decision +150 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
This fight should go to the scorecards and the odds reflect as much. Aldana is the better striker but she also gets hit a lot. Kunitskaya has good cage control and we see her trying to make this a boring clinching type of fight where a lot of it may play out up against the fence.
Max Griffin over Carlos Condit -175 (3 units) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
Griffin doesn’t have a good overall record but he’s a good fighter. He’s taking on Condit who’s coming off of 2 wins. Even with Condit’s recent success this appears to be a bad matchup for him. Max is the better wrestler and would seem to have an easy path to victory if he chooses to implement a wrestle heavy game plan.
Michel Pereira over Niko Price -175 (3 units) Bet was placed on 7/10/21
This fight should be a contender for fight of the night. Both fighters bring an exciting fight style into this matchup. Pereira is the more talented fighter however and should win as long as he doesn’t get clipped. Price is relentless but is also easy to hit. Pereira should be able to pick apart Price enough to get either a decision or stoppage victory.
Dricus Du Plessis over Trevin Giles by sub +500 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
In what is an evenly matched fight we’re going with the newer UFC fighter by submission. Giles is more proven against UFC competition but has been submitted twice in round 3 in his 2 losses. Du Plessis is a finisher who’s never been to a decision. We feel Giles will have success but will tire later in the fight. If and when the hits the ground Giles will be in danger of Du Plessis’ strong submission game.
Jennifer Maia over Jessica Eye -190 (3 units) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
Maia is coming off a title fight loss to Valentina Schevchenko. She did manage to clearly win one round in that fight. We feel she’s the better overall fighter in this spot on the feet or ground. Eye has lost 3 of her last 4 fights and was the victim of a brutal head kick knockout against Schevchenko in their fight.
Brad Tavares over Omari Akhmedov -155 (3 units) Bet was placed on 7/10/21.
Tavares is the better striker here with excellent takedown defense. On top of that Akhmedov is known to gas later in his fights. We feel Tavares will be able to get the better of it on the feet. Because of his excellent takedown defense the fight should primarily take place on the feet where Tavares should score enough points to earn the victory.
