UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Dillashaw (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Darren Elkins (1.25 units)
Darren Elkins did Darren Elkins things in this fight. He fell behind early taking damage and avoiding submission attempts along the way. Ultimately he broke Minner and was able to get a TKO in round 2.
Losing Bets
Jordan Williams (-0.75 units)
This was the 1st of many bad bets we made
on the night. We felt Williams was much the better striker and would be safe on the ground. Much to our surprise Gall was able to swarm him, take his back, and submit him shortly after in round 1.
Punahele Soriano (-0.75 units)
The way this fight played out was also surprising with Allen taking the fight right to Soriano. We thought Allen would try and avoid striking with him and that wasn’t the case. Allen kept pressing forward and was able to outpoint a tiring Soriano along the way.
Cory Sandhagen (-1 unit)
This fight was ultra close and easily could’ve gone to Sandhagen. We believe most people had it scored for him. But all that matters was that the judges had it scored for Dillashaw. Sandhagen landed the more damaging shots but made the mistake of letting a game Dillashaw hang around. He hung around to the point where he took the fight away from him.
Julio Arce / Jordan Williams / Ian Heinisch / Miranda Maverick / Kyler Phillips / Cory Sandhagen parlay (-1 unit)
The parlay started off right then completely fell off a cliff. Arce was able to get a convincing stoppage victory over Ewell. The parlay quickly died with Williams getting subbed by Gall in the next fight. Then Heinisch, Maverick, Phillips, and Sandhagen all proceeded to lose their fights as well.
UFC Fight Night: Hall vs Strickland (PLAYS)
Ryan Benoit & Ashley Yoder parlay +184 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 7/30/21.
This parlay was made with UFC experience in mind. Ryan Benoit has been in the UFC for close to 8 years now and has fought some good names along the way. Zarrukh Adashev has barely been in the UFC for 1 year and is 0-2 in the UFC. Benoit has a ton of experience and also has one punch KO power.
Ashley Yoder has been in the UFC for over 5 years and is battle tested against some big names. She’ll also be the bigger fighter and holds the grappling advantage. We feel she’ll be able to control and outpoint Frey for the victory.
Brian Barberena over Jason Witt by KO +150 (1.25 units) Bet was placed on 7/30/21.
Brian Barberena is as tough as they come and is battle tested in the UFC. He’s not a one punch KO artist but is a high volume fighter. Jason Witt is known for having a glass jaw and has been KO’d 5 times throughout his career. The feeling here is that the veteran Barberena is able to hurt Witt and finish him along the way.
Rani Yahya over Kyung Ho Kang -105 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 7/30/21.
This is a closely lined fight between 2 UFC veterans. Neither fighter has a signature win in the UFC. We’re going with the more active Yahya in this fight. He uses his striking to try and set up his world class BJJ game. If he can get the fight to the ground he’ll give himself his best chance to win. If not then he’ll probably lose a decision after gassing out.
Uriah Hall over Sean Strickland +160 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 7/30/21.
Sean Strickland has an excellent record but has come up short when he steps up in competition. Uriah Hall is one of the most accomplished fighters he’s faced to date. Strickland likes to press forward and that plays right into the hands of a counter striker such as Hall. We feel Strickland will run into something big giving Hall a chance to finish him at some point.
