Ryan Benoit & Ashley Yoder parlay (-1 unit)
This parlay went backwards as both of our fighters lost their fights. Benoit was out struck and outclassed by Adeshev. Yoder couldn’t use her size to her advantage and got out stuck by the smaller Frey. This was a bad bet on our part betting on 2 fighters who deserve to be cut from the UFC.
Brian Barberena by KO (-1.25 units)
We tried to turn a big favorite into plus money and came up short. Barbarena had Witt hurt a couple of times but couldn’t finish him. We knew Barbarena didn’t have one punch power but Witt’s chin was highly questionable. To Witt’s credit he hung in there and got decision victory.
Uriah Hall (-1 unit)
This was another bad bet on our part as Hall never really had a chance to win. We felt Strickland would bring the fight to Hall (which he did) and that would open up the possibility for Hall to land a meaningful counter shot. But Hall was gun shy like he normally is and lost a lopsided decision.
UFC 265: Lewis vs Gane (PLAYS)
Johnny Munoz over Jamey Simmons ITD +130 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 8/6/21.
This is a matchup between 2 unproven, winless UFC fighters. We’re siding with the more talented fighter in Munoz. We feel he’s better anywhere the fight takes place. Both fighters rarely go to the scorecards so rather than lay the heavy chalk on Munoz, we feel he has a good chance to win inside the distance.
Pedro Munhoz over Jose Aldo -109 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 8/6/21.
This promises to be a great fight and the odds reflect it should be competitive. Aldo is an all time great but he’s definitely on the back nine of his career. He’s very dangerous early and fades late. We feel he’ll have early success but Munhoz will stick around. Munhoz should start to take over the fight in the 2nd round and we see him winning most likely by decision.
Ciryl Gane over Derrick Lewis ITD + 105 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 8/6/21.
Derrick Lewis is the definition of a KO or bust fighter. He has no submission game and isn’t active enough to win a decision in most cases. Ciryl Gane is the next generation of MMA fighter with excellent movement and fight IQ.
We feel he’ll be able to avoid Lewis’ power and pick him apart along the way. He could also take the fight to the mat if he chooses where he’d have a big advantage. We feel it’s extremely unlikely the fight goes the distance one way or another. Lewis will either win by KO or get finished at some point as he either gets hurt or gasses.
Johnny Munoz / Manel Kape / Rafael Fiziev / Tecia Torres / Gane-Lewis ends ITD parlay +515 (2 units) Bet was placed on 8/6/21.
We already went over how we feel Munoz and Gane will win their fights. Just in case Lewis does what he does we took that fight ending inside the distance.
Manel Kape was highly thought of coming to the UFC. So much so that he was the backup for the flyweight title fight before his 1st fight. He’s now 0-2 in the UFC but he’s been competitive in both fights. This is a major step down in competition for him.
Rafael Fiziev is a star in the making. His striking is top notch and has 100% takedown defense. He’s already beaten a better fighter (Renato Moicano) than his opponent Bobby Green. We feel the fight will remain standing where Fiziev is by far the better striker.
Tecia Torres has rebounded nicely since losing 4 fights in a row. She’s beaten better fighters than Hill and actually has already beaten Hill before. We feel she’s better everywhere and she’ll do enough to get the victory in this spot.
