UFC 269: Oliveira vs Poirier (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Charles Oliveira (+6.25 units)
What can you say about Charles Oliveira? The guy is the champ and came in as the underdog against Poirier. He keeps getting disrespected at the betting window and just keeps on winning. Oliveira once again showed heart as Poirier landed some good shots in him. But he kept pressing forward and ultimately broke Poirier and submitted him in round 3.
Losing Bets
NONE
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Daukaus (PLAYS)
Mateusz Gamrot / Stephen Thompson / Ricky Simon parlay +181 (1.5 units) Bet was placed on 12/17/21.
Mateusz Gamrot is a star in the making and arguably should still be undefeated. He can realistically win by sub, KO, or decision. That type of well roundedness is going to be tough for Ferreira to overcome. Ferreira is a good fighter as well but he’s on the back nine of his career. And fighting a future top 10 ranked lightweight isn’t a favorable matchup for him.
Stephen Thompson is a tough puzzle to solve and only the elite have been able to do so. Belal Muhammad is a good fighter but he’s not elite. Thompson should be able to keep the fight standing and pick him apart from distance.
Ricky Simon is a young, relentless fighter who will look to control Assuncao on the ground. If Carlos Diego Ferreira is on the back nine of his career then Raphael Assuncao is on the 19th hole. His best days are long gone and is basically just a name at this point. We wouldn’t be shocked if Assuncao calls it a career after this fight.
Derrick Lewis over Chris Daukaus by KO +175 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 12/17/21.
Derrick Lewis has been an elite heavyweight for years now fighting for the title twice. He’s only lost to the very best over the last few years. On top of that he has the kind of power that can end a fight in the 1st 10 seconds of the fight or in the last 10 seconds.
Chris Daukaus is 4-0 with 4 finishes in his UFC career. Those wins however were against mostly the bottom of the barrel heavyweights. Now he’s stepping into the deep end of the pool against Lewis. We feel the combination of the bright lights, step up in competition, and Lewis’ power will be too much for Daukaus to handle. Daukaus has been KO’d twice before so we’re taking Lewis to make it 3 times.
Mateusz Gamrot over Carlos Diego Ferreira by sub +1100 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on. 12/17/21.
As stated earlier we are high on Gamrot and feel big things are in his future. He’s very well rounded and he can win by any method. We feel there’s a reasonable chance he can win by sub over the BJJ black belt Ferreira. Brazilian BJJ black belts have been getting subbed recently and Ferreira getting subbed wouldn’t be a shocker. He’s been known to tire late in fights and Gamrot’s fighting style can wear him out where he could be subbed late in the fight. At odds of +1100 it’s well worth the stab.
Mateusz Gamrot / Stephen Thompson / Ricky Simon / Raquel Pennington / Gerald Meerschaert / Amanda Lemos parlay +694 (0.5 units) Bet was placed on 12/17/21.
We already gave our thoughts on an earlier parlay with Gamrot, Thompson, and Simon. We ended up combining them with 3 other fighters we like for a bigger parlay.
Raquel Pennington has fought for a title and has miles more experience than Chiasson. On top of that Chiasson is known to gas later in fights and Pennington is as tough as they come. We feel Pennington should get the win here most likely by decision.
Gerald Meerschaert also has a ton of fight experience over his opponent Dustin Stoltzfus. He generally beats fighters he’s supposed to beat and loses to fighters better than him. Stoltzfus is a fighter he’s better than so he should win in this spot most likely by submission.
Amanda Lemos has taken the straw weight division by storm in her brief UFC career. She’s 4-0 in her last 4 fights with 3 finishes. She brings big power to the weight class and Hill is there to be hit. She should get the win most likely by decision but a win by finish wouldn’t be a surprise.
This is the last UFC card of the year and we here at MMAInformed.com want to thank you for visiting the website and for reading Capper’s Delight. It was a rough year betting wise but we look forward to getting a fresh start in 2022 and hopefully having a winning year. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
