Long-time Xtreme Couture striking coach Tim Lane, 49, was found dead on Friday afternoon in the Mount Charleston area of Las Vegas.

On Thursday, the gym’s head coach — and trainer to several UFC stars including heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou Eric Nicksick posted to his Instagram account a message asking followers if they had seen or heard from Lane after he went missing since Wednesday morning. In the post, Nicksick added that the former ISKA world champion kickboxer’s car and phone were found at the Kyle Canyon section of Mount Charleston.

In a Friday night update to the situation, the elite MMA coach added a video informing his followers that he and 30 members of Xtreme Couture and members of their non-profit branch Merging Vets & Player — which was headed by Lane — formed a search party to look for the trainer where he was last scene.

In the video, Nicksick revealed that a rescue helicopter eventually spotted and recovered Lane’s body along with the fact his untimely death was by suicide.

“This is another friend and a coach who’s taken his life,” Nicksick said [h/t MMAJunkie]. “This sh*t gets heavy. This sh*t’s too soon, and I don’t understand a lot of this stuff and the reasons why, but please make sure you tell your loved ones you love them and check in on people.”

When Lane was officially designated as a missing person by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Thursday, officials stated Lane “might have been in severe emotional distress and in need of medical assistance.”

Xtreme Couture has been hit by several tragic deaths in recent years. In 2017, Robert Follis — a member of the coaching staff at the time — took his life, and last Summer a beloved member of the team in veteran fighter Kyle Reyes shockingly passed away at just 30-years-old.

The members of the MixedMartialArts staff offer our deepest condolences to Lane’s family and friends at Xtreme Couture.
