UFC 271: Adesanya vs Whittaker 2 (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Ronnie Lawrence / Kyler Phillips / Andrei Arlovski parlay (+1.57 units)
Ronnie Lawrence was dominant and impressive once again. He was able to take down and land shots on Martinez at will throughout the course of the fight. The 3rd round was a sweat however as Martinez was able to hurt and drop Lawrence but he was able to use his wrestling to survive.
Kyler Phillips was the superior fighter in what turned out to be a complete mismatch. He was too fast and strong for the outgunned Rojo. Phillips even got to show off his submission game by finishing Rojo by sub in round 3.
Andrei Arlovski was able to win another fight by fighting smartly from the outside. He was the faster, more active fighter. Jared Vanderaa couldn’t find the 43 year old fighter enough to get the win. Now he’s 1-3 in the UFC and is looking at getting cut from the promotion.
Losing Bets
Sergey Morozov / Bobby Green / Jared Cannonier parlay (-2.25 units)
Sergey Morozov single handily prevented us from having a great night. He dominated and hurt Silva De Andrade in round 1. After round 1 Morozov was a -1100 favorite in the live betting market. But he let Silva De Andrade hang around to the point where he was able to hurt and finish Morozov later in the fight. Morozov could’ve wrestled his way to victory but chose to stand and bang with Silva De Andrade. By doing so he allowed him to take over the fight and get the victory.
Bobby Green was ultra impressive and was levels better than Nasrat Haqparast. Jared Cannonier had a rough round 1 but was able to come back and wear out Derek Brunson and get the TKO victory.
Sergey Morozov / Bobby Green / Jared Cannonier / Ronnie Lawrence / Kyler Phillips / Andrei Arlovski parlay (-0.5 units)
Once again this was another parlay that would’ve hit if not for Morozov losing. This time it was a 6 leg parlay at over +800 odds.
Derrick Lewis Round 1 over Tai Tuivasa (-1 unit)
Derrick Lewis had his chance in round 1 to get the victory. He was able to land heavy punches on Tuivasa and even take him down to the mat. But Tuivasa was able to withstand everything and get out of round 1. It was only a matter of time before Tuivasa was able to land some offense of his own and the fight ended shortly after in round 2.
UFC Fight Night: Walker vs Hill (PLAYS)
Kyle Daukaus / Jamahal Hill ITD parlay +123 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/18/22.
Kyle Daukaus is simply put a better fighter than Jamie Pickett. He pretty much has Pickett covered everywhere the fight goes. Daukaus can stand with Pickett or he can take the fight to the ground where he’d have the superior advantage.
Pickett is on a 2 fight winning streak but his quality of opposition in those fights isn’t impressive. He’s a low volume fighter who lacks power and his ground game is questionable. Pickett is durable however and could make it to a decision. Either way we expect Daukaus to come out victorious when all is said and done.
Jamahal Hill had a bad loss to Paul Craig and some people wrote him off. In reality he’s one of the better strikers in the light heavyweight division. His ground game isn’t his strong point but that shouldn’t come into play in his matchup against Johnnie Walker.
Johnnie Walker took the UFC world by storm winning his 1st 3 fights in impressive fashion. He has since gone 1-3 in his last 4 fights and was even close to losing in his lone victory during that stretch. The truth is Walker isn’t very good and he benefitted from easy matchups in his 1st 3 UFC fights. As the competition got better Walker got exposed.
Jamahal Hill is an elite striker with power and is a problem for the division. We anticipate this fight to remain standing where Hill should shine. Walker is explosive and dangerous but only against inferior competition. It should only be a matter of time before Hill hurts and finishes Walker.
