Capper’s Delight – (2/5/22) UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs Strickland

Welcome back to Capper’s Delight. We’re coming off a losing week for the last fight card. Our single bet went 0-1 for a total loss of 5 units. Our bets for the year are down 0.63 units. All bets are 3rd party tracked at Betmma.tips under the handicapper profile name MMAInformed.com.

UFC 270: Ngannou vs Gane (RESULTS)

Brandon Moreno / Ciryl Gane parlay (-5 units)

This was a rough night of betting as both of our picks lost. It didn’t matter that both picks lost because once one pick was wrong the parlay was lost. Both fights were very close and we have no regrets with our selections.

Brandon Moreno looked like the faster fighter as we predicted. What we didn’t predict was that he’d get knocked down multiple times. We made the mistake of dismissing Figueiredo’s power. Ultimately it was those knockdowns that cost him because without them he would’ve won the fight.

Ciryl Gane couldn’t have started the fight any better. He was scoring points on Ngannou and wasn’t getting hit in return. Everything changed in the 3rd round when Ngannou of all things became a wrestler. Gane had no answer for it and Ngannou was able to win the last 3 rounds and the fight.

UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs Strickland (PLAYS)

Jailton Almeida ITD / Alexis Davis parlay +119 (1.75 units) Bet was placed on 2/4/22.

We’re taking a chance on the UFC newcomer Jailton Almeida. He’s been nothing short of impressive in his mma career sporting a record of 14-2. He’s a bonafide finisher as almost all of his fights end inside the distance. We feel the UFC is giving him a favorable matchup in his debut. Danilo Marques is nothing special and has been finished in two of his three losses. We feel it’s just a matter of time before Almeida makes it three out of four losses by finish.

Alexis Davis should roll in this spot as this fight looks like a total mismatch on paper. Davis is as experienced as it gets while Stoliarenko simply put is not UFC quality. Davis’ losses have only come against legitimate competition over the last 10 years and Stoliarenko isn’t that. We feel this fight will look similar to Davis’ fight against Sabina Mazo where she dominated from start to finish.
