Our parlay started off in the right direction with Pinheiro winning a close decision. But it was all for not when Rosas Jr got exposed in his fight against Rodriguez. We knew Rodriguez was a good fighter but we fell into the Rosas Jr hype and paid for it.

UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Allen (PLAYS)

Matheus Nicolau / Dustin Jacoby / Max Holloway parlay +269 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 4/15/23.

Nicolau is a dark horse contender for the UFC Flyweight title. He has fast hands and an excellent BJJ game. Royval is very good as well but his reckless fighting style can be exposed. We expect this to be an exciting fight and we’ll side with the fighter who has the better technique.

Jacoby has been nearly perfect in his 2nd stint with the UFC. Murzakanov is undefeated but has needed to come from behind to win in the past. We feel the fight will play out on the feet and Jacoby is the superior striker. Jacoby should win most likely by decision but a KO isn’t out of the question.

Holloway is an all time great featherweight. His losses are to the best of the best. Allen is on an incredible run and is a good fighter. We’ll side with the great fighter in this spot. Unless Holloway shows up as a shell of himself he should not only win but win in dominant fashion.

We took a chance on the surging Vera but he couldn’t figure out the Sandhagen puzzle. He couldn’t pull the trigger and allowed Sandhagen to get off volume and win the fight on the scorecards.

UFC 287: Pereira vs Adesanya 2 (PLAYS)

Luana Pinheiro & Raul Rosas Jr parlay +142 (2 units) Bet was placed on 4/8/23.

Would anyone be surprised if Waterson lost in this spot and laid down her gloves and called it a career? Waterson represents the old guard while Pinheiro is the new guard. We see Pinheiro out striking Waterson to most likely a decision victory.

The UFC are wanting to make Rosas Jr a star and they’re giving him a favorable matchup. Rodriguez is good but he won’t be able to stop Rosas’ takedowns. With Rosas Jr theoretically on top that’ll allow him to either control Rodriguez for long periods of time or submit him. Either way both results would equal a Rosas Jr victory.

Hadley started the parlay off right by making it look easy and getting the 1st round finish. Shore also won easy but his finish came in round 2. Both fighters looked dominant and the bet cashed with no sweat.

UFC Fight Night: Vera vs Sandhagen (PLAYS)

Manel Kape ITD +197 (2 units) Bet was placed on 3/25/23.

Kape is a star in the making in the flyweight division. He was brought in as a backup to a title fight in his 1st appearance in the UFC. He’s currently on a 3 fight winning streak and holds a major advantage over Perez in speed and striking.

Perez started off his UFC career hot but has struggled as the competition has stepped up. On top of that he hasn’t been active of late and has pulled out of a ton of fights. Kape’s speed and athleticism should be too much for Perez to handle and he should get the job done inside the distance.

Marlon Vera +125 (1.5 units) Bet was placed on 3/25/23.

This fight is an important one in the bantamweight division. It matches two of the divisions top title contenders. The matchup is a close one so because of that we’ll take the underdog Vera.

Vera is in his best career form right now. He also has a reputation of fighting for your money. Sandhagen is probably the more talented fighter but talent doesn’t always win out. Vera hits hard and doesn’t quit. We see him either finishing Sandhagen at some point or inflicting enough damage over the course of the fight to win a decision.

Carlston Harris / JJ Aldrich / Raphael Assuncao / Mario Bautista & Guido Cannetti under 2.5 rounds parlay (-1 unit)

Our parlay got off to a good start when Harris easily won his fight by unanimous decision. Everything came crashing down shortly after when Aldrich lost as a big favorite thus making our ticket a loser. We made the mistake of underestimating Lipski’s hand speed, volume, and experience.

Even had Aldrich won we still would’ve lost when Assuncao came from ahead to lose by a last second inverted triangle. Finally, the Bautista & Cannetti fight ended early as expected.

Said Nurmagomedov in round 2 +650 & round 3 +1000 (-0.50 units each, -1 unit total)

We were close to cashing this bet in round 2. Nurmagomedov had Martinez in trouble and was close to submitting him. Ultimately Martinez survived and was able to win a controversial decision making our bet a losing one.

Alexander Volkov in round 2 +850 & round 3 +1100 (-0.50 units each, -1 unit total)

We were greedy in this spot and it cost us. Instead of taking Volkov to win in rounds 2 or 3 we should’ve played him to win in rounds 1 or 2 or ITD. This was a big step up in competition for Romanov and we were confident Volkov would finish him. He did just that but in round 1 finalizing our horrible betting night.

UFC 286: Edwards vs Usman 3 (PLAYS)

Jake Hadley ITD & Jack Shore ITD parlay +196 (1.5 units) Bet was placed on 3/16/23.

Hadley is a good looking prospect who was matched poorly in his UFC debut. He rebounded from that loss and looked good in his 2nd UFC fight winning by sub in round 2. Now he’s facing Gordon who is borderline UFC level.

We expect Hadley’s pace and pressure to be too much for Gordon to handle. Gordon’s best chance to win is on the ground but Hadley is dangerous there as well. We’re confident that Hadley can get the job done before hitting the judges scorecards.

Shore is making his featherweight debut after getting dominated in his last fight at bantamweight. It was his 1st loss and apparently the weight cut has been too much for him. Shore is talented everywhere and presses a good pace.

Amirkani enters this fight a loser of 4 out of his last 5 fights. He’s a talented grappler but also is a known gasser. We feel there’s a good chance he’ll get worn out in this spot as well with Shore being a good grappler too. We’re expecting Shore to finish Amirkani later in the fight most likely by submission.

UFC 285: Jones vs Gane (RESULTS)

Farid Basharat / Tabitha Ricci / Bo Nickal & Jamie Pickett under 1.5 rounds parlay (+2.25 units)

Basharat was the 1st leg and the most sweaty of the parlay. Blackshear was competitive throughout but Basharat did enough to get the decision. Ricci was dominant and was able to submit Penne in round 2. Nickal closed out the parlay by getting the submission victory in round 1.

UFC Fight Night: Yan vs Dvalishvili (PLAYS)

Carlston Harris / JJ Aldrich / Raphael Assuncao / Mario Bautista & Guido Cannetti under 2.5 rounds parlay +358. Bet was placed on 3/11/23.

Harris is a decent fighter who’s coming off a loss against Shavkat. Gooden is stepping in on short notice and was previously released from the UFC. Harris should be good enough to get the victory in this spot.

Aldrich is a good, underrated fighter. Her losses have mostly been against better fighters. She also has some nice wins on her record. Lipski came to the UFC with much hype but has gone 3-5 and doesn’t really have a good UFC win.

Assuncao is 40 years old and looked completely done going into his last fight against Henry. He surprisingly got a convincing victory as a big dog in that fight. Grant is as tough as they come but fights wild and reckless. Assuncao’s counter game should be good enough to tag Grant enough to get the win.

Bautista is a rising prospect while Cannetti is a finish or get finished fighter. 3 of Cannetti’s last 4 fights have ended in round 1. While 4 of Bautista’s last 5 fights have ended inside round 2. This fight shouldn’t make it past 2.5 rounds.

Said Nurmagomedov in round 2 +650 & round 3 +1000 (0.50 units each) Bets were placed on 3/11/23.

This is a great matchup between two up and coming fighters. We feel Nurmagomedov is the better skilled fighter and is an opportunistic finisher. Martinez presses a hard pace but has been clipped in the past. We feel Nurmagomedov will catch him at some point and proceed to finish him most likely later in the fight.

Alexander Volkov in round 2 +850 & round 3 +1100 (0.50 units each) Bets were placed on 3/11/23.

This fight should go one of two ways. Romanov is either going to dominate in the grappling and possibly finish Volkov. Or he’s going to gas out later in the fight and get finished by Volkov. We feel Volkov will be able to withstand the early grappling and extend the fight.

Romanov isn’t as good as his record indicates and Volkov has fought the much better competition. Also Romanov has shown a questionable gas tank the later the fight gets. All in all we see Volkov being able to finish Romanov later in the fight and cash our bet.

Suarez got off to a slow start in her nearly 4 year layoff from the sport. However her talent ultimately showed up and she got the job done. She was able to get a 2nd round submission over the durable De La Rosa and cash our bet for us.

UFC 285: Jones vs Gane (PLAYS)

Farid Basharat / Tabitha Ricci / Bo Nickal & Jamie Pickett under 1.5 rounds parlay +112 (2 units) Bet was placed on 3/4/23.

Basharat is undefeated and looks like a legitimate prospect. Blackshear is good but is out skilled in this matchup. Basharat should look the part and win in convincing fashion.

Ricci is better everywhere in her matchup with Penne, specifically in the grappling. Penne is 40 years old and we wouldn’t be shocked to see her retire after a loss in this spot.

Nickal is only 3-0 and is a -2000 favorite in his UFC debut. That should tell you everything you need to know about what is expected to happen in his matchup against Pickett. All it should take is 1 takedown and the fight should be over shortly after. We’re confident that the fight will end within 7.5 minutes.

UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs Blanchfield (RESULTS)

Winning Bets

Marcin Prachnio / Erin Blanchfield parlay (+1.50 units)

Our only winning ticket of the night proved to be an easy winner. Prachnio completely outclassed the now cut William Knight. It’s tough to lose a fight when you’re the only one throwing strikes.

Blanchfield proved she’s the real deal as she easily dispatched Jessica Andrade in round 1. Andrade’s experience edge couldn’t overcome the age, size, and pure talent advantage Blanchfield possessed.

Losing Bets

Clay Carpenter / Philipe Lins / Jim Miller & Alexander Hernandez FDGTD / Jordan Wright & Zac Pauga FDGTD parlay (-1 unit)

Carpenter & Lins got the parlay started off right by getting easy 1st round finishes. Everything came crashing down however once the Miller & Hernandez fight went the distance. Even had that fight ended inside the distance the parlay would’ve still been a loser. Much to the surprise of the mma gambling world the Wright & Pauga fight also ended up going the distance.

Jim Miller (-0.50 units)

We took a chance on the old veteran Miller. While he was competitive he ultimately lost by unanimous decision. Hernandez proved that he wasn’t completely washed by getting the victory.

Jim Miller wins in round 2 (-0.25 units)

Our hopes of Miller finishing a gassed out Hernandez in round 2 didn’t happen either. Hernandez showed good cardio and didn’t use all of his gas in round 1 like we hoped he would.

Jordan Wright wins in round 1 (-0.25 units)

If Wright were to win it most likely would’ve happened in round 1. He didn’t win and the fight ended up going the distance. Only Pauga and his boring fight style can take a kill or be killed fighter the distance.

Josh Parisian (-0.50 units)

Pogues got the victory but appears to be an average fighter at best. The problem is we bet on Parisian and he’s a below average fighter. That’s what we get for betting on a low level heavyweight fight.

UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs Spann (PLAYS)

Tatiana Suarez ITD +125 (1.5 units) Bet was placed on 2/24/23.

This is another rough looking UFC card from a betting perspective. Rather than placing a bunch of small long shot prop plays we only made one play for the whole card. That play is the one we feel most confident about

Tatiana Suarez is making her comeback after a nearly 4 year layoff. Prior to the layoff she was seen as a sure fire future UFC Champion. If she didn’t lose a step during her time off she still should be a future champion.

The UFC is giving her a squash match against the tough but outgunned De La Rosa. She may be able to last for a little while but we believe Suarez’s wrestling and pure talent will get the job done inside the distance. If the fight ends up going the distance it’s most likely because Suarez chose to test out her cardio after her long layoff.

UFC 284: Makhachev vs Volkanovski (RESULTS)

Jack Jenkins / Loma Lookboonmee / Jack Della Maddalena parlay (+1.10 units)

Jenkins looked the part as he was able to dominate the outclassed but game Shainis. Lookboonmee had a slow start but that all changed in round 2. She was able to get her 1st submission victory shortly after taking Reed down. Della Maddalena kept on rolling and was able to close out the parlay with yet another 1st round finish.

Losing Bets

Alonzo Menifield ITD (-1 unit)

Menifield was only a clean punch or two away from getting the stoppage over Crute. Somehow Crute was able to survive and somehow the fight went the distance. The value was there but the outcome barely missed.

UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs Blanchfield (PLAYS)

Clay Carpenter / Philipe Lins / Jim Miller & Alexander Hernandez FDGTD / Jordan Wright & Zac Pauga FDGTD parlay +221 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/16/23.

Carpenter appears to be a nice prospect and the UFC is giving him a winnable matchup for his debut. Lins has the speed and athleticism advantage and those skills should lead him to victory over St Preux. Hernandez has been a 1st round or bust fighter lately and that should continue in his fight against Miller. Wright fights in a kill or be killed manner and we don’t see that changing against Pauga. It would be a shocker if that fight makes it to round 3 and the odds reflect it.

Jim Miller +175 (0.50 units) Bet was placed on 2/16/23.

Hernandez hit his peak in his UFC debut against Dariush. Since then he’s gone 4-5 and shown that he’s a slightly better than average fighter at best. Miller is the definition of a grizzled veteran. If he can survive the early Hernandez onslaught he’ll be in position to take over the fight and get the victory.

Jim Miller wins in round 2 +1100 (0.25 units) Bet was placed on 2/16/23.

We just finished saying that if Miller can survive the early Hernandez onslaught he’ll be able to take over the fight. Hernandez has been finished in round 2 in 4 of his last 5 losses. It only makes sense to take a stab on Miller in round 2 at those generous odds.

Jordan Wright wins in round 1 +500 (0.25 units) Bet was placed on 2/16/23.

If Wright were to win it’s most likely happening in round 1. He normally wins or loses in round 1. Pauga is coming off his 1st loss and is the naturally bigger fighter. He really should beat Wright but the line is very wide. Wright has the faster hands and is very capable of taking Pauga out early.

Josh Parisian +195 (0.50 units) Bet was placed on 2/16/23.

This is literally the lowest level heavyweight fight the UFC has to offer. Parisian is barely UFC quality but somehow has 2 UFC wins on his resume. Poques is making his UFC debut and looked average at best in his Contender Series fight. There isn’t a world where Pogues should be that heavy a favorite in his UFC debut based on his body of work.

Marcin Prachnio / Erin Blanchfield parlay +300 (0.50 units) Bet was placed on 2/16/23.

Knight sports the body and the look but really isn’t a very good mma fighter. Prachnio isn’t anything special himself but he’s the better skilled fighter. If he can avoid Knight’s power he should be able to get the victory.

Blanchfield is taking a huge step up in competition but she’s been dominant so far in the UFC. At only 23 years old she’s everything Maycee Barber thought she herself was going to be. She’ll need to get the fight to the ground because Andrade is a killer on the feet.

Andrade can be controlled on the ground and Blanchfield is an excellent grappler. We expect Blanchfield to get the fight to the ground where she should dominate and propel herself to a title shot later in the year.

Capper’s Delight – (2/11/23) UFC 284: Makhachev vs Volkanovski

UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Spivac (RESULTS)

Rinya Nakamura / Ji Yeon Kim / Yusaku Kinoshita / Do Hoo Choi & Kyle Nelson FDGTD / Derrick Lewis & Sergei Spivac FDGTD parlay (-1 unit)

The Kim fight was cancelled before the card started. Nakamura looks like the real deal and easily won his fight. The main event didn’t come close to going 5 rounds. The issue was the Kinoshita fight. He was outclassed by Fugitt who was one of the biggest dogs on the whole card. Even had Kinoshita won the parlay still would’ve lost because the Choi fight went the distance. Overall the parlay was a bad bet.

Denis Tiuliulin (-1 unit)

This was the worst bet of the night for us. We were so focused on Tiuliulin’s striking and power that we failed to realize he had no ground game. Once he was taken down he looked like a random guy off the street going up against a professional mma grappler. He had no answer once the fight hit the ground and got subbed shortly after.

Yusaku Kinoshita by sub (-0.50 units)

This was another horrible bet because he was actually finished by the big underdog Fugitt. We don’t normally make prop bets on debuting fighters but we fell into the hype and paid for it. We ended up losing on multiple tickets on a debuting fighter so shame on us.

UFC 284: Makhachev vs Volkanovski (PLAYS)

Jack Jenkins / Loma Lookboonmee / Jack Della Maddalena parlay +110 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/10/23.

Jenkins is making his UFC debut but looked relentless in his Contender Series fight. Shainis was beating the likes of Jay Ellis less than a year ago.

Lookboonmee is an excellent striker while her ground game is constantly improving. Reed is an average at best UFC fighter who shouldn’t offer much of a challenge wherever the fight takes place.

Della Maddalena might have the best boxing in all of the UFC. He hits hard and his body work is a thing of beauty. Brown is good and is a big step up in competition. However he doesn’t appear to have the power or wrestling most likely needed to fend off Della Maddalena’s elite striking.

Alonzo Menifield ITD +250 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/10/23.

If Menifield is going to win it feels like it will occur inside the distance. The fight going to the scorecards seems very unlikely. Crute is the better overall fighter but he’s been finished in 3 of his last 5 fights. Menifield is a finisher with big power. If Crute can’t get the fight to the ground than it’s just a matter of time that Menifield catches him with something big on the feet.

UFC 283: Teixeira vs Hill (RESULTS)

Winning Bets

Jailton Almeida by KO (+1 unit)

This bet went according to plan with Abdurakhimov being tough to submit. Once Almeida realized this he put his focus on pounding him out for the TKO stoppage which made our bet a winner.

Gabriel Bonfim & Israel Bonfim parlay (+2.07 units)

The Bonfim Bros parlay came through with flying colors. Ismael got the parlay started off right with a spectacular flying knee KO over Terrance McKinney. Gabriel finished off the parlay with an impressive 1st round submission over Mounir Lazzez.

Losing Bets

Ismael Bonfim wins in round 1 (-0.50 units)

We were on the right fighter but the wrong round. Bonfim was able to finish McKinney as expected but it happened in round 2 and not round 1. Looking back we should’ve played him to win in both rounds 1 & 2 as the fight was never going to make it to round 3.

Josiane Nunes ITD & Gregory Rodrigues FDGTD parlay (-1 unit)

Somehow the Nunes fight was able to go the distance thus killing our parlay. She had the reputation of being a heavy striker but needed to let her hands go more often to give us a shot. The Rodrigues vs Ferreira fight went as planned with the fight ending shortly after the first clean shot landed.

Glover Teixeira (-1 unit)

Our read was off as we felt Teixeira had a great chance of winning once the fight hit the ground. That just wasn’t the case as Hill proved he was capable of surviving on the ground multiple times. While the fight remained standing he completely dominated Teixeira and earned the victory becoming the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Spivac (PLAYS)

Rinya Nakamura / Ji Yeon Kim / Yusaku Kinoshita / Do Hoo Choi & Kyle Nelson FDGTD / Derrick Lewis & Sergei Spivac FDGTD parlay +219 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/3/23.

We’re starting off the betting with a chalky 5 leg parlay. Nakamura & Kinoshita are the better prospects who are supposed to win. Kim is on a 4 fight losing streak but those were against much tougher competition. She’s competitive in almost every fight and Bohm is a major step down in competition.

Choi and Nelson should get after it early and often. It would be a surprise if they could go the full 3 rounds. Finally the Lewis and Spivac fight is destined to end before 5 rounds. Lewis will either win by KO or get TKO’d or submitted before the final horn. It would be an absolute shocker if the fight made it to the scorecards.

Denis Tiuliulin +175 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 2/3/23.

Park has fought the better competition, is the better fighter, and the deserving favorite. With that being said he’s hittable and has been finished before. Tiuliulin hits hard and is a better fighter than his record indicates. For those reasons we’re taking a shot on him at nice dog odds.

Ji Yeon Kim by KO +450 (0.50 units) Bet was placed on 2/3/23.

This fight was cancelled prior to our breakdown.

Yusaku Kinoshita by sub +650 (0.50 units) Bet was placed on 2/3/23.

Kinoshita is the big favorite and is expected to win inside the distance. KO is the most likely method of finish however he does have a couple of submission victories as well. The submission odds were too good to pass up so we took the shot.
