Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Is this the beginning of the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) wars? Comedian Tom Segura, a pal of Mr. Rogan and frequent guest on his podcasts, has teamed up with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight to talk some trash toward upcoming title challenger Yoel Romero. Another JRE standard, Joey Diaz, is a well-known friend and supporter of “Soldier of God,” so this could certainly end in an entertaining beef between those two.
As it turns out, the man who talks for a living can make a pretty funny Instagram diss. Short and simple, Segura informs perhaps the scariest Middleweight in history that he “ain’t sh*t” and is going to get “f*cked up,” before shouting out “African Swag” and insulting Romero in Spanish in the caption. Adesanya gets a word or two in himself, but he’s mostly there to shadowbox and stunt for the camera.
Adesanya and Romero will meet in the Octagon as the headlining bout of UFC 248 on March 7th, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Everyone interprets what pound-for-pound means differently. Is it a metric for divisional dominance? A comparison of skill if all attributes were the same? Does cross-divisional success have a big factor?
Who knows. Either way, I support this.
Breaking: I have a good news to you.
Finally, UFC was decided to separate the P4P Rankings.
We will have Mens and Woman’s P4P Rankings now.

Looks like I might be watching my first JRE in a long, long time.
I’ve avoided this problem by making absolutely no money from MMA.
I like Tonon’s chances.
I challenge @stephenasmith to an MMA fight. I am allowed no takedowns, submissions, or strikes of any kind except shoulder strikes. He gets to use any attacks he chooses. Even illegal ones. What are my chances?

Joanna Jedrzejczyk staying sharp on mitts:
Stephen Thompson’s new gym looks awesome!
Tony Ferguson has posted SO MANY “Tiramisu Tuesday” posts. It genuinely makes me wonder how many Italian desserts he’s eaten solely to spite Khabib?
Slips, rips, and KO clips
A brutal switch kick serves as a great counter here:
Speaking of incredible left kicks …
Bessette really baited him into this exchange, he clearly had a real command of his opponent’s timing.

Molten glass is pretty neat.
Midnight Music: Shoutout to Paul Simon and Graceland for being incredible. That’s an album/artist definitely on my shortlist for future tattoo concepts.
Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
