Welcome to Midnight Mania!

We’re just a few days away from Weili Zhang’s title defense opposite former Strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The bout is scheduled to go down at UFC 248 this Saturday (March 7, 2020) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, less than a week after Deiveson Figueiredo missed weight for his Flyweight title shot, Zhang has concerns of finding herself in a similar situation, per Las Vegas Review Journal’s Adam Hill.

Without saying it outright, Zhang is referring to Jedrzejczyk’s breast implants. “The Boogeywoman” underwent breast augmentation surgery last year sometime prior to her main event bout with Michelle Waterson. Though she did make weight for that bout, she was above the championship limit, and there was a great deal of questioning her ability to make the cut in the final few days before weigh-ins.

Comparatively, things seem quiet regarding Jedrzejczyk’s weight cut, but that is not a guarantee of anything. Weigh-ins are Friday morning, so stay tuned for any potential weight cut drama before the big night.

Insomnia

Diego Sanchez could learn to walk on water and I still wouldn’t buy into his training methods.

To this day, few set up their takedowns quite like Dominick Cruz.

Explosive power!

A little piece of history that’s pretty neat!

I could watch Douglas Lima rip kicks all day, his technique and power are real impressive.

Slips, rips, and KO clips

Israel Adesanya is such a special talent. The man is just fun to watch, and there’s nearly a guarantee he kicks Romero in the face at some point (yet, the kick is just as likely to have no effect on the neck-less Cuban).

I haven’t a clue if these knees are legal in this promotion, but they’re definitely brutal!

When a dude just stands with his back to the fence and offers little defense, you can afford to get creative.

Random Land

Shoutout llamas.

Midnight Music: Tonight, I checked out Brittany Howard’s solo debut album Jaime. Howard is the front-woman of Alabama Shakes, and Jaime tends to be a bit funkier than the more bluesy sound of Alabama Shakes records. I like both!

Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
