The UFC Vegas 41 weigh-ins take place today from inside the same venue as Saturday’s event, the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nev. The participants on the Oct. 23 card are expected to hit the scales to make their bouts official at around 11 am ET/ 8 am PT.
UFC Vegas 41 is headlined by a fight that has seen its contracted weight change twice over the last couple of days. Originally expected to be a middleweight clash between the second and fifth-ranked fighters in the division, tomorrow afternoon’s headliner between Marvin Vettori and Paulo Costa will be contested instead at light heavyweight.
The bout is happening at a weight 20-pounds heavier than planned after the Brazilian arrived to fight week weighing nearly 40 pounds heavier than the middleweight non-title limit. After reports claimed the matchup was renegotiated to occur at a 195-pound catchweight, Thursday night brought the news it would now happen at 205-pounds.
The booking will be each man’s return fight after failed bids to dethrone division king Israel Adesanya in their previous bouts. At first, this was expected to be a matchup to keep both men in the title contention conversation. Now, it’s a matchup of two talented middleweights competing in a weight-cut free fight in Las Vegas.
UFC Vegas 41 kicks off at 1 pm ET with preliminary action. The main card then follows at 4 pm ET. The entire event will air exclusively on ESPN+.
