Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is expected to finalize its upcoming trip to the Astana Arena in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, according to a report from MMA Fighting, which would mark the promotion’s first mixed martial arts (MMA) event in a region known best to idiots like me from the “Borat” movie.

Kazakhstan, according to my hasty research, is located in Central Asia and borders China, Mongolia, and Russia, along with a bunch of other countries I don’t care about and will never visit. And if you think that sounds harsh, ask someone from Nur-Sultan if they care about the political unrest in New Jersey.

No fighters have been attached to the proposed card at this time and the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. As of this writing, the only other fight card scheduled for June is the UFC 251 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Perth, Australia, headlined by the Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway rematch.
