Second chances don’t happen often in the crazy sport of MMA, but Victor Reyna feels “blessed” to get one with Dana White’s Contender Series.

Reyna returns for the second consecutive season in hopes of securing a UFC contract when he faces Louis Cosce in the welterweight headliner of DWCS Season 4: Week 3 this Tuesday night. The event takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas and streams on ESPN+.

“Kelevra” took on current UFC 170-pounder Miguel Baeza on this past season’s Contender Series in June 2019 and came up short via unanimous decision.

The 34-year-old Reyna spoke with MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck to discuss getting another opportunity to compete in front of UFC President Dana White – along with matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard – how he got into the sport nearly a decade ago, what he took away from his fight with Baeza last season, how he has dealt with training during the COVID-19 pandemic, thought on Cosce as an opponent, whether or not he believes it will be his last chance to get into the UFC, and more.
