Welcome back to Capper’s Delight. We’re coming off a winning week to start off the new year for last weeks card. Our single bet went 1-0 for a total profit of 4.37 units. All bets are 3rd party tracked at Betmma.tips under the handicapper profile name MMAInformed.com.

UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Chikadze (RESULTS)

Calvin Kattar (+4.37 units)

Our read on the underdog Kattar proved to be correct. His durability and experience was too much for Chikadze to handle. Kattar was able to wear down Chikadze from start to finish and put a good beating on him along the way. Chikadze is a good fighter but it turns out he wasn’t ready for that type of step up in competition.

UFC 270: Ngannou vs Gane (PLAYS)

Brandon Moreno / Ciryl Gane parlay +147 (5 units) Bet was placed on 1/21/22.

Brandon Moreno is the current UFC Flyweight Champion and just recently turned 28 years old. Since being cut from his 1st UFC stint in 2018 he’s yet to lose a fight with a couple of draws along the way. Even though he’s the current champion he still might not have reached his prime yet.

Moreno comes into the trilogy fight with a record of 1-0-1 in the 1st two fights. In the 1st fight he showed his gameness by standing up to everything Figueiredo had to offer. Figueiredo landed the more meaningful shots and would’ve won had he not committed a foul and had a point deducted.

In the rematch it wasn’t close as Moreno took the fight to Figueiredo and wore him out. Figueiredo took a more measured approach and it backfired as Moreno dominated and ended up submitting him in round 3. Figueiredo made excuses for the poor performance in the rematch.

Which brings us to this trilogy matchup. We know Moreno is faster, more durable, and can finish Figueiredo. He’s hurt Figueiredo multiple times already and Moreno has yet to be hurt by him. Figueiredo switched camps and appears to be in great shape for the trilogy fight. With that being said we feel it won’t be enough as Moreno is simply the better fighter at this point in their careers and appears to have his number.

Ciryl Gane is the undefeated UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion. He brings a skill set that the heavyweight division has never seen before. Gane is an excellent technical striker with amazing athleticism and footwork. He’s even shown an ability to submit his opponents in multiple fights.

Francis Ngannou is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion and is widely regarded as the baddest man on the planet. His power is second to none and he can end a fight at any moment. While he’s improving in other aspects of his game, he’s ultimately a KO or bust fighter.

We feel Gane’s athleticism and movement will frustrate Ngannou and make it hard for him to find him and inflict damage. Gane also has great fight IQ and should avoid putting himself in spots where Ngannou could potentially KO him. If Ngannou can’t find the knockout then we believe Gane will style on him and possibly finish a frustrated Ngannou later in the fight.

There’s also an element of outside distractions that are in play with Ngannou. He’s been very vocal leading up to the fight about being underpaid and wanting to pursue high dollar boxing fights. It may or may not have a bearing on the fight itself but it’s just not a good look for someone making his 1st title defense.
