Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, quickly discovered that all is not fair in love and war, after “The Last Stylebender” used the terrorist attacks on 9/11 as part of his trash talk against upcoming opponent, Yoel Romero.

Following some brief blowback, Adesanya quickly apologized for the blunder.

Longtime middleweight rival, Paulo Costa, seemed satisfied with the result, but cautioned the former kickboxer to keep his mouth shut. In fact, “The Eraser” plans to teach him some respect if and when they collide later this year.

“Glad you learned your lesson,” Costa wrote on Twitter. “Now shut your big mouth already. Respect the people and be ready to be erased.”

The Brazilian has been sidelined with a bicep injury in the wake of his Yoel Romero win back at UFC 241 last August. That didn’t stop the promotion from booking “Soldier of God” for the next 185-pound title shot at UFC 248 next month in Las Vegas.

Assuming Adesanya (18-0) is able to get past the power-punching Cuban, the promotion is likely to slot him against the undefeated Costa (13-0) sooner, rather than later.
