Ian Heinisch will fight at UFC 250 after all.

The middleweight was pulled from his fight against Gerald Meerschaert earlier in the day on Thursday with Anthony Ivy tapped as a replacement.

Initially one of Heinisch’s corner men had tested positive for COVID-19 as first reported by TSN and the UFC immediately shifted towards a new fight. According to multiple sources, another test was taken and the coach was eventually cleared, which allowed Heinisch to step back into the fight.

UFC officials confirmed to MMA Fighting late Thursday that Heinisch vs. Meerschaert was scheduled for this weekend’s card in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Ivy will still get his chance to fight in the UFC after he was willing to face Meerschaert on just 48 hours’ notice. Ivy is expected to be rescheduled for a later date against a different opponent still to be determined.

With Heinisch back in the fight, he will now take on Meerschaert on the UFC 250 prelims, which kick off at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
