UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs Hill (RESULTS)
Winning bets
Michelle Waterson (+2.20 units)
We were very fortunate to have the decision go our way in this fight. The fight was so close and easily could’ve gone to Hill. When all was said and done Waterson threw more punches and seemed to land the more meaningful shots throughout the fight. But when the fight was over Waterson also wore the most damage between the two.
Losing bets
Patchy Mix (-5 units)
Going in to the fight we felt Mix would come out on top and become a true MMA superstar. Unfortunately for us Archuleta had other plans. Mix started off strong by implementing his grappling in rounds 1 & 2. But Archuleta was able to survive some tough spots and take over the fight in the feet. The fight never made it back to the ground after round 2 and Archuleta was able to give Mix that vet lesson for the remainder of the fight.
UFC Fight Night: Covington vs Woodley (PLAYS)
Tyson Nam over Jerome Rivera -180 (2 units) Bet was placed on 9/17/20.
This is a classic matchup between an established veteran going against a young UFC debuting fighter. Rivera is a nice prospect who’s tall and long for the division. He has good grappling but his striking is suspect.
Nam on the other hand is a good striker with power who’s ground game is a little bit suspect. He has good take down defense and will look to keep the fight standing. We see this fight playing out on the feet where Nam has a big advantage and he should get the decision win or even possible KO.
Randa Markos over Mackenzie Dern +140 (2 units) Bet was placed on 9/17/20.
Mackenzie Dern is a BJJ specialist who’s basically sub or bust. If you go to the ground with her odds are she will submit you. Her stand up game however is pretty bad and she’s at a disadvantage on the feet basically against anyone in front of her. That will be the case her against Randa Markos.
Markos doesn’t have great striking but she’s much better than Dern on the feet. She’s known for having good wrestling but she’d be wise to do all she can to keep the fight standing to avoid Dern’s path to victory. We feel this fight will take place mostly on the feet and Markos will have done enough to get the decision at nice dog odds.
Ryan Spann over Johnny Walker +100 (2 units) Bet was placed on 9/17/20.
Johnny Walker came onto the scene a couple of years ago and looked like would be a legit threat to Jon Jones. That ended quickly when Corey Anderson finished him in round 1 last year. Then Walker went on to lose a unanimous decision to Nikita Krylov earlier this year. Walker is freakishly athletic with big power. But he doesn’t have the cardio to carry those skills beyond round 1.
Ryan Spann comes into this fight riding a 8 fight win streak. He’s very well rounded with a good mixture of power and a nice submission game. His chin and cardio are questionable too but not as much as Walker’s. We see Spann being able to withstand the Walker early storm and taking the fight over after round 1. All 3 methods of victory are on the table for Spann at slight dog odds.
Colby Covington, Niko Price, TJ Laramie, Khamzat Chimaev, Andre Ewell parlay +379 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 9/17/20.
Colby Covington is the better fighter by a mile in this point of their careers. All he needs to do is avoid a one punch KO and he should roll to victory.
Niko Price is too big and powerful for Cerrone to handle. He should hurt and finish Cerrone at some point.
TJ Laramie is a nice prospect coming out of Canada. Darrick Minner is a sub or be subbed journeyman who doesn’t belong in the UFC.
Khamzat Chimaev is the real deal and should smash GM3. His relentless style and power will be too much for GM3 to handle.
Andre Ewell has a big reach and experience advantage over Rivera. He should use both to get the victory.
