The UFC returns to action for the first time in 2021 on Fight Island with a fascinating main event at 145 pounds.
UFC Fight Island 7 takes place this Saturday at the brand new Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi headlined by a pivotal featherweight matchup between former champion Max Holloway and rising contender Calvin Kattar.
The pairing will make mixed martial arts history as the main event of the first UFC card to air on ABC television.
Holloway has lost his last two fights to Alexander Volkanovski, in which he lost the title at UFC 245 and came up short in a close split decision in the rematch at UFC 251 in July. “Blessed” returns to Fight Island to compete in his first non-title fight since taking on Anthony Pettis for the interim featherweight title at UFC 206 in December 2016.
Kattar arguably made the most movement in the division this past year as he earned a pair of big victories. “The Boston Finisher” put away Jeremy Stephens in the second round at UFC 249 and earned a unanimous decision win over Dan Ige in the main event of July’s UFC on ESPN 13 event in Abu Dhabi.
