UFC middleweight Paulo Costa had to get through Yoel Romero to get his shot at rival Israel Adesanya.
The undefeated Brazilian middleweight took on Romero at UFC 241 in what was his biggest test to date, and with a fight against Adesanya hanging in the balance, he delivered over three rounds to capture a unanimous decision in August 2019.
The full fight between Costa and Romero can be watched above, courtesy of the UFC. On Saturday, Costa will return to the octagon for the first time since a TKO loss to Adesanya at UFC 253 to face fellow one-time title challenger Marvin Vettori.
Vettori is coming off a second loss to Adesanya in a meeting at UFC 263. The winner of Saturday’s bout, which headlines UFC Vegas 41 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, stays in the hunt for a middleweight title and gets back in the win column after a setback.
