UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Daukaus (RESULTS)
Winning Bets
Alexa Grasso ITD (+6 units)
Winning this bet made our night. We felt there was a chance Grasso could finish Wood due to Wood’s recent form and it came true. Wood hadn’t looked like the same fighter prior to the Maia fight and Grasso has been getting better.
Neil Magny & Max Griffin FGTD / Alexa Grasso / Curtis Blaydes parlay (+1.47 units)
This bet went according to plan starting with the Magny fight going the distance. Both fighters were durable and neither was a big finisher. Grasso was simply the better fighter and she showed it. Finally Blaydes showed why he’s a top 5 heavyweight finishing the fast fading Daukaus in round 2.
Losing Bets
Chris Gutierrez by decision (-1 unit)
This bet was headed in the right direction until it wasn’t. Gutierrez was clearly the better technical striker and was able to stay away from Batgerel’s power. What we didn’t expect to happen was Gutierrez finishing him due to landing a spinning elbow.
Matt Brown ITD (-1 unit)
How this fight made it to the scorecards remains a mystery. There was nonstop action throughout the fight with both fighters getting hurt along the way. We felt Brown could finish Barbarena because he had the better power between the two but it just didn’t happen.
UFC 273: Volkanovski vs Korean Zombie (PLAYS)
Josh Fremd over Anthony Hernandez +170 (3 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/22.
Josh Fremd is being given a winnable fight in his UFC debut. Anthony Hernandez is coming into this fight after a shocking submission victory over the previously undefeated Rodolfo Vieira. This line reflects recency bias from that victory. Also that sub had everything to do with Vieira being completely gassed more than anything else.
Fremd is big, strong, and has fight ending power. We feel he matches up well against the smaller Hernandez. And we’re getting great odds because of the previously mentioned recency bias.
Jared Vanderaa / Vinc Pichel / Tecia Torres parlay +553 (2 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/22.
Jared Vanderaa is the much faster and younger fighter against Oleinik. If he can keep the fight standing he should be able to pick apart the 44 year old Oleinik and possibly finish him along the way.
Vinc Pichel is an underrated fighter who has much more UFC experience than Madsen. He’s got good leg kicks and good cardio. The same can’t be said for Madsen who should look to wrestle since that’s his background. We see Pichel getting the win here with a chance at a finish later in the fight.
Tecia Torres should look to keep the fight standing against the dangerous Mackenzie Dern. She’s the faster, better, striker and should win if the fight remains standing. Dern will look to get the fight to the ground but has poor takedowns. We feel the fight will remain standing where Torres should dominate.
Petr Yan / Jared Vanderaa parlay +117 (3 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/22.
We feel Yan will be dominant in the rematch against Sterling. For that reason we made him a parlay piece in multiple parlays. He’s clearly the better striker and Sterling had major difficulty taking him down. If Sterling can’t take him down he should clearly lose a striking battle. As for Vanderaa we already pointed out why we feel he should win against Oleinik.
Petr Yan / Vinc Pichel parlay +124 (3 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/22.
We’ve already broke down both of these fights stating why both should win. So we decided to parlay them together at plus odds.
Petr Yan / Tecia Torres parlay +144 (3 units) Bet was placed on 4/9/22.
The same reasoning was used behind making this parlay. We feel strong about Yan winning so we added Torres to increase the plus payout.
Vinc Pichel by submission over Mark Madsen +1700 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 4/9/22.
We pointed out earlier why we feel Pichel should be victorious. We’re taking a chance that Pichel could submit a tired Madsen later in the fight. Pichel has good cardio and Madsen has slowed down considerably late in fights. Besides the juicy odds Pichel himself tweeted something mentioning a 3rd round submission.
