The UFC has rebooked a lightweight bout between fan favorites Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Joe Lauzon for June 18, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

The fight was supposed to take place last weekend, at UFC 274 in Phoenix. Both lightweights made weight on Friday, but the bout was postponed on the day of when Cerrone came down with food poisoning. The new matchup will take place at a UFC Fight Night at Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

The matchup was one of the most intriguing fights on the card. Cerrone (36-16) is considered a living legend, and he has been emotional about wanting to fight in front of fans now that his 3-year-old son, Danger, is old enough to understand the moment. Cerrone, 39, has stated he wishes to get to 50 fights under the Zuffa UFC/WEC banner. He currently sits at the number 47.

Cerrone has not fought in front of fans since January 2020 because of the pandemic.

Lauzon (28-15) has not fought since October 2019. The 37-year-old, fighting out of Massachusetts, has fought exclusively in the UFC dating back to 2006.

A featherweight fight between ranked featherweights Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett is scheduled to headline the UFC Fight Night card.
