Bellator fighter Sidney Outlaw tested positive for three prohibited substances in an out-of-competition drug test administered by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation, department director Mike Mazzulli told ESPN on Tuesday.
According to Mazzulli, Outlaw tested positive for ostarine, GW-501516 and anastrozole, all prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency code.
Because of the positive test, Outlaw has been suspended a minimum of six months by the Mohegan Tribe, pending the results of future screenings, Mazzulli said. Outlaw has been removed from the upcoming Bellator Lightweight World Grand Prix and will be replaced by former champion Brent Primus, promotion officials told ESPN.
Primus will fight Mansour Barnaoui in the quarterfinals of the Bellator lightweight tournament May 12 in Paris, officials said.
Outlaw (16-5) had a two-fight winning streak snapped by Tofiq Musayev last July, a first-round TKO. The Pennsylvania native’s only other Bellator loss came against three-time former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler, now a UFC star. Outlaw, 30, trains out of American Top Team in Florida.
