Winning Bets
Alonso Menifield ITD / Karine Silva / Joe Solecki parlay (+3.93 units)
Menifield was able to expose Mozharov for being a bad fighter and finished him late in round 1. With all the controversy surrounding his record it’ll be interesting to see if the UFC give him another fight.
Silva proved to be the superior fighter in her victory over Botelho. She was able to secure the 1st ever women’s D’Arce choke victory in UFC history.
Solecki was in a close fight and benefitted from Da Silva receiving a point deduction for fence grabbing. Without that he would’ve lost the fight so we were lucky.
Karine Silva over Poliana Botelho ITD (+2.60 units)
Silva looked good in her UFC debut. She was the better overall fighter and was able to submit Botelho late in round 1. Botelho is a good hammer but is a bad nail and Silva was just too skilled of a fighter for her.
Alonzo Menifield over Askar Mozharov in round 1 (+0.875 units)
Menifield is a tough fighter to trust with your money but this was a mismatch. He was the way more high level experienced fighter. Also there was the question about Mozharov’s record which came into play. In the end Menifield was able to get the finish late in round 1.
Losing Bets
Zhalgas Zhumagulov (-1 unit)
Unfortunately we fell victim to a bad decision here. Zhumagulov controlled the fight on the ground and landed the more meaningful shots on the feet. Even Molina himself thought he lost the fight after the final scorecard was read. These things happen in mma almost every week and the decision just didn’t go our way this time.
Dan Argueta (-1 unit)
We took a chance on the newcomer here and he had a good showing. The line was too wide and the fact that Argueta was competitive proved it. In the end however Jackson did enough to get the win and the bottom line was the bet ended up being a losing ticket.
Zarrukh Adashev (-1 unit)
Plain and simple this was a bad bet on our part. We felt Adashev was the faster striker but that was lazy on our part. Osbourne was more proven, athletic, and more electric with one shot fight ending power and he showed it. In the end we made a bad bet on someone who probably isn’t UFC quality.
Dan Ige (-1 unit)
We took a chance on the more experienced UFC fighter who’s fought the tougher competition and it didn’t matter. Evloev is elite
and proved it in this fight. We thought he was a pure wrestler but his striking was impressive. Ige was never a threat to win the fight at any point and lost every round.
Joe Solecki by sub (-0.5 units)
Solecki was the better submission grappler but he was never close to finishing the fight. Da Silva has good submission defense and we failed to realize that. Solecki is live to submit an opponent who has weak submission defense and that wasn’t Da Silva.
UFC 275: Teixeira vs Prochazka (PLAYS)
Jacob Malkoun over Brendan Allen by decision +800 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/10/22.
Allen is the better overall and more talented fighter in this matchup. With that being said we feel Malkoun will try to implement his wrestling and grind out a decision. It also helps that Malkoun isn’t much of a finisher so his only path to victory appears to be by decision. With +800 odds we feel it’s worth the risk.
Jack Della Maddalena ITD over Ramazan Emeev +275 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/10/22.
This is a classic matchup between a grappler and striker and we’re backing the striker. Della Maddelena has great hands and will need to keep the fight standing to show them off. Emeev will look to take the fight to the ground where he’s the much better wrestler. We’re hoping Della Maddalena can keep the fight standing but acknowledge this can look like a bad bet if Emeev is able to take him down at will.
Taila Santos over Valentina Shevchenko +400 (1 unit) Bet was placed on 6/10/22.
We’re going against arguably the greatest female fighter of all time. Needless to say this may end up as a bad bet on next weeks recap. But we have our reasons for playing Santos and here they are.
She’s young, strong, and a threat on the feet and ground. Valentina has been feasting on retreads of the division of late and now Santos brings new blood to the table. We feel Santos can be competitive on the feet but would be better off trying to take the fight to the ground.
Valentina was recently taken to the ground and controlled for a round by Jennifer Maia. Santos is strong and may be able to control her as well if the fight hits the ground. We’re willing to take a chance the new challenger at good odds and see what happens.
Danaa Batgerel / Weili Zhang / Glover Teixeira & Jiri Prochazka FDGTD parlay +235 (2 units) Bet was placed on 6/10/22.
Batgerel packs fight ending power and could end a fight at any point. He’s also the better overall fighter so we expect him to get the win in this spot.
Weili Zhang has remained active since her 1st fight with Jedrzejczyk while Joanna has been off for the last 2 years. Zhang has been unbeatable against fighters not named Rose Namajunas. She has the faster hands and is the overall more skilled fighter. We believe it’ll most likely be a close fight in this rematch but one we feel Zhang will be victorious in.
It would take something unforeseen for the main event to make it to a decision. The most likely scenario is Jiri by KO or Glover by submission or ground and pound. Anything else would be a complete shocker. Jiri is too powerful and dynamic of a fighter to go the distance against this opponent. At the same time if Glover can get the fight to the ground then Jiri will most likely be in bad shape to survive his ground game. We fully expect this fight to end inside the distance and the odds reflect it.
