UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Chikadze (PLAYS)
Calvin Kattar over Giga Chikadze +175 (2.5 units) Bet was placed on 1/14/22.
This line appears to be completely off and that’s the main reason for betting on Kattar in this spot. Chikadze is riding a 9 fight win streak (7-0 in the UFC) and is getting better. When you dig a little deeper however, you see that his quality of opposition hasn’t been all that great. His last two wins are his best with Barboza being the only ranked fighter he’s ever faced.
Calvin Kattar on the other hand has been battle tested throughout his UFC career. He’s coming off an all time classic beating at the hands of Max Holloway. It was completely one sided but Kattar lasted the whole 25 minutes against arguably the greatest featherweight of all time.
Chikadze doesn’t offer anywhere near the same type of volume that Holloway does. Also Giga has been known to slow down later in fights. When you couple that with Kattar’s toughness then all signs point to Kattar having the advantage the later the fight goes. Unless Chikadze is able to get Kattar out of there early (which has never happened) then we feel Kattar will be able to wear down Chikadze as the fight progresses. We feel the line on this fight should be much closer to a pick’em instead of what they actually are.
